The Tigers have called up Ramon Santiago from Toledo and sent down Oscar Salazar. Santiago was just recently called up to Toledo to fill in for Omar Infante at shortstop while Infante’s on the DL. In 9 games with the Mud Hens, Salazar was hitting .429 with two home runs. Two years ago Baseball America had him ranked as the top prospect in the Tigers organization. Last year he DH’d the whole year due to a shoulder problem.

I think a lot of players are caught up in all the trade rumors, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t kind of contemplating, thinking about what’s going to change and how it’s going to change. The Tigers get Chris Truby, “an above average” defensive player. He’ll be the starting third baseman.
