Finally, some good news. Apparently Miner’s new role is the first reliever we call on when our starter gets knocked out of a close, winnable, and fairly important game. Go figure.
I agree having Miner come in tonight was a little strange, as was letting Lewis start the 7th inning against the White Sox on wen. I hope Leyland knows what hes doing. We have a dream bullpen but we just need to score some runs so we have a lead to give them.
Maroth couldn’t be coming back at a better time, he could be a huge boost for us. He is a great person and a terrific competitor.
Miner did a solid job for us with his fill-in role. Incredible really considering his sudden rookie call up into a rotation that was so dominating most of the season, and I praise his effort. But I think he’s tiring or teams are simply figuring him out, or both.
I’m happy to see Maroth’s return. Hopefully Miner will continue to help the team in other ways this year or in the future.
