From the good news department Danny Knobler brings us:
Placido Polanco hit off Jordan Tata for about half an hour this afternoon, and manager Jim Leyland said afterwards that Polanco would be activated and will start Saturday night. He said Polanco will have Sunday off.
Awesome!
Oh, yeah. Almost forgot. I hope that shoulder injury hasn’t sapped all his power 😉
This is good news. I doubt he’ll be a 100% right away but hopefully he will be by the time the playoffs start.
Here we go boys! Everything is falling into place. Oh yeah!
Does anyone know how well he hit Tata?
“Oh, yeah. Almost forgot. I hope that shoulder injury hasn’t sapped all his power”
Good thing is, he was never really a power hitter. Just a good, solid hitter who could go to the opposite side, move runners, and come through wth RISP. It’s great news. I just hope hope he’s not apprehensive to start hitting. He’s been pretty emotional about this injury. If you will recall after he was hit in the head with a pitch and out for a couple days, it took him some time to come around. I agree with Lee Panas…it’s going to take some time for him to get back in form. Hopefully by October we’ll have the old Polly back.
T Smith, the power thing was just a joke. Shoulder injuries are notorious for sapping power, but I’m assuming that won’t affect PP’s play much. Just a little ribbing for the one starter on this team who doesn’t rely on hitting the ball out of the park.
Chris Y… Opps, should have read the sarcasm…
I’m just ecstatic he’s back.
