Very geeky and math heavy so be warned if it isn’t your thing. But at least scroll to the bottom to see how many plate appearances it takes for various stats to stabilize.

Gorkys Hernandez was rated 2nd best baserunner in the minors. Mike Hollimon rated well at AA.

Former Yankees scout to replace Greg Smith

The plaque for Brian Bluhm was dedicated at West Michigan.

And The Tigers have hired Joe DePastino to replace Brookens as manager at West Michigan. DePastino is in his first professional managerial assignment after playing 13 professional seasons as a catcher from 1992-2005.

Thank you kindly for the link. Nerd pride!
The saber link was great! Thanks for posting. It’s interesting to me some of the correlations: ex – GB rates stabilize faster than FB rates, etc.
It makes sense that swing rates & contact rates stabilize quickly and that OBP and OPS stabilize faster than BA, but for BA to not stabilize after a full season (!) seems extreme. But, there it is, and may help explain so many “career” years that happen from time to time.
It’s also great for the Whitecaps to recognize BB. Its another of the many things that make that A-franchise one of the best in the minor league business: first class, all the way.
Thank you so much for linking us- as always, it is so very much appreciated!
The plaque is a really cool thing…
On a side note –
Arod (from MLB.com)
A little later, with another group, Rodriguez gathered them at the end and said, “The greatest thing is you have to know you can hit, you have to want to hit and you’ve got to be confident in the box. So if you’re ever in that box, you tell yourself, ‘I’m better than the guy on the mound.’ I want you to never forget that, OK?”
another “psych yourself into it” quote straight from the horses mouth so to speak
Magglio had that all of last year
Let me preface this, I already did it to Ian, so …….GO HOOSIERS!!!!! BOWL BOUND!! I know it’s pathetic to get excited about going to some weak bowl game, but it is the first time since i was 16 years old, much the same as the Tigers going to the series last year (i was 7 then). So I just need to vent my excitement, and I may be going to Detroit, not for a baseball game, but for a crappy bowl, that I love every minute of!
Much love, sign Kenny, and go IU!!!
Congrats Tommy!
Don’t worry, Zapp, I’m a Spartan who feels kinda the same way, even if it were the motor city bowl!
Another Spartan Fan, Kurt? Good! Sometimes it feels like it’s 99-1 U of M-MSU fans in Michigan.
MSU ’03!
The UP has some Spartan fans, thanks to the Izzo connection.
