Not sure how many of you have read the capsules from the guy in KC, but I thought it was some good analysis. He thinks the Tigers will “only” win 93 … I think that’s on the low end.
I think Bondo, Rogers and Willis are the keys. We’re going to score lots of runs, somewhere between 5.8 – 6.0 per game most likely. If that pitching trio returns to form or close to it, the Tigers will be a lot closer to 100 wins.
I think Scott’s on the money. You’ve got 3 pitchers who all performed well below their capabilities last year, all due to injuries (less certain with Willis). While it’s a lot to hope for that they all return to form, it seems almost impossible that there won’t be an overall improvement – the extent of which will probably tell the tale
