I think if he played the rest of the year and got the 40 HRs and continued to lead the league in RBIs he wins it. Now, it looks like Arod or Bautista may pass him in RBI total.
This also gives the writers a chance to vote Hamilton for MVP because they would be voting for an injured player regardless. I think Hamilton wins it by a decent margin with Cabrera comfortably finishing in second.

I agree. Hamilton really was something, both at the plate and in the field, during the stretch when the Rangers widened the gap.
Had Cabrera finished strong, it would have been his. I’m excited to see what JV does tonight.
Inge putting on a tremendous display – 17 Ks in lat 40 AB – there is no letting up now – he obviously wants the record bad.
