If the weather has not already changed outside your window, summer is officially over. The Boys wrap up the season looking to end up perfectly even – a .500 club. That would be a fitting end for the season.
My plan is to take a few weeks off through the playoffs, and then start posting for the off-season in a month or so. If you guys would like to have a few threads to discuss the playoffs, I’m happy to post them.
Lots to talk about this off-season, though the Inge discussion may be shorter than we’d like…
I would also like to get more input from you guys on topics, as well as solicit some help. I’ll close out the season in a few days. Just trying to enjoy the end of the summer.
attaboy Inge! Nice way to end the season. Now the best part the season begins, the post-season. At least we can still root for Granderson.
Yes, Inge sure knows how to finish a season! Inge’s second half batting avg 2007-2010…
.217
Maybe you missed it, but he made a spectacular diving catch to end the game.
and to end this craptacular season. I’m just glad it’s over for the Tigers. Maybe now the healing can begin and hopefully we make some improvements during the off-season.
and if you also use his last months K’s……….. he is projected to strikeout 10000000000000000000 more times before he’s done
Ah, multi-year for Inge. It looks like stephen’s work is not done. On the bright side, we don’t have as much reason to worry about him retiring from commenting.
Plus, so far Inge has a HR in each game since he found out he was wanted back. That projects to 324 HRs over the next two seasons.
Chris thanks for doing the site the past few weeks….we all appreciate it…..
ooops Kevin thanks…..I knew that
oops ! I meant thanks Kevin……I knew that!
Actually, Jud, if Inge struck out that many times we would all be the happiest people in the world. Because I don’t care how many LOB you have, if you’ve got a guy batting a few thousand times a game, somebody’s knocking in some runs.

We can and will debate all these moves but I’m curious as to why Dombrowski felt a need to announce them, let alone right now.
Oh, and I forgot too — thanks to Kevin for keeping the site going. Looking forward to whatever off season topics you come up with.
Here’s my theory: Dombrowski announced he was offering Inge a multi-year deal. He didn’t say for how much. Maybe it will be so low, 2yr $6m, that Inge turns it down in an Inge-like pique.
Well, would Babe Ruth or Ted Williams take that kind of money?
Arod claims that the Yankees are ‘david’ in the matchup against the ‘goliath’ twins.
Is there a bigger tool in the MLB today?
The answer is no.
The games are a farce with this umpiring. imo.
So now we let the speculation run wild. I think the Tigers will somehow pick up a B+ starter. Think Danny Haren, Ryan Dempster, or Livan Hernandez. They’ll keep Peralta. Finally, they’ll pick up an outfielder, and let Magglio go. He’ll go back to the White Sox and bat .320.
