So much for that nationally televised game, as April in the D continues to be a cold and rainy one. No makeup date has been announced yet. Monday we are back to interleague play (Again already? What’s up with that?), weather permitting of course.

i know these guys are paid well and many purport to be tough, but baseball is just not a sport that should be played sub-50 degrees (unless its October/playoffs). I’m sure with the long-term investment DET is making in these players (especially Cabrera, VMart, Upton and JV, who was slated to start tonight), DET is relieved tonight’s game was called. Cold weather can be a catalyst for injuries, especially at the beginning of a season.
When I coached in Michigan 50 was the cutoff. But on iffy days we played because tomorrow could be worse. …Now that I coach in Southern California any kind of iffy weather you cancel because tomorrow will be better…..haha!
I didn’t know you coached in Michigan, thought you were a SoCal guy.
Taught and Coached 32 years at Grand Rapids Northview…retired moved to Southern Cal been coaching here 12 years
I did about 20 years in NorCal, but, hey…it’s all good if you’re a Tigers fan.
Noticed that the Fresno Grizzlies and Las Vegas 51s had 2 games postponed this weekend in Vegas. Wonder what 50 or so 20 somethings would do in Vegas for a weekend???
Probably have a latte or two at Starbucks then stay up really late reading poetry?
We had nasty rain and flooding here in Vegas all weekend.

…speaking of early season injuries, B. Holaday is now the starting catcher for TEX…and Choo is out for 6 weeks
…as “they say”, that (injuries) is a part of the game… a part that hopefully DET avoids in ’16 – at least to the key players

…a less than glowing review of the ’16 DET Tigers… the writer makes some valid points and some questionable ones also (Raja Davis “a great loss”?!)
hopefully ’16 DET is motivated by the “experts” low expectations for this team
UPDATE: Norris had a rehab start – pitched 2 innings gave up 1 run a couple hits & couple K’s …DET will need him back healthy and productive
