Justin Verlander and the Sunday Scrubs try to keep the Tigers from being swept for the second consecutive series.
Yesterday Michael Fulmer became just the 2nd Tiger in 10 years to lose a game where he pitched at least 7 innings with no earned runs. It was a different kind of historic day for the Dodgers who won their record 13th consecutive interleague game.
In other news Justin Upton says he hasn’t decided if he is doing to opt out of his contract or not.
Today’s Lineup:
- Ian Kinsler, 2B
- Alex Presley, RF
- Justin Upton, LF
- Miguel Cabrera, 1B
- Mikie Mahtook, CF
- Victor Martinez, DH
- John Hicks, C
- Andrew Romine, 3B
- Dixon Machado, SS
Pitching: Justin Verlander vs Kenta Maeda
Curtis Granderson will lead the game off for the Dodgers, which should be a familiar sight for a lot of the Tiger fans at the game.
Bottom feeders come through again!
Sunday Scrubs to the rescue!
Rare mistake by the Dodgers there–you’ve got to pitch around Upton with first base open.
+1 Especially the way Miggy’s season has gone.
Ok, I’ll say it. JV must start the 9th. Greene ready to go now that Rondon’s in Toledo.
Although they don’t use them much, the Dodgers also have clown shoes.
Even though we lost the series, this was one of the more enjoyable weekends this year against a great team. Perhaps hope for the future.
Didn’t watch… Didn’t tape… . Would have been a good one to do either with. But!, That’s what this team has done to me though…
Oh Jud, what can I say. To parrot our TV talking heads: “JV is must watch TV.” Two 1 hit games of 8 innings out of his last 3 starts. Fortunately our bottom feeders got him 2 runs and J-Up hit one out to secure the win. Both pitchers throwing no-no’s for 5 full innings. Keep the recorder programmed.
