I guess I missed something on Leyland's comments. The sports talkers on 97.1 were all obsessing about the lame-duck status and they were upset with his comments. I don't see any of it as that big of a deal.

DD didn't want to respond to Leyland's extension comments.

Also check out the rank of Tigers position players. Maybe they don't need to blow things up and just get some better pitching.

- Tigers to try Larish at third – Jeff Larish heads to the Arizona Fall League to work on fielding the hot corner. Smart move since he's effectively blocked at first base. Video from Dontrelle’s last start. The delivery still looks very much Dontrelle like, but maybe with a dimmer switch so it isn’t as intense

Eddie appears to be on the verge of cracking the Elias FA ranking formula. Pudge should be a Type A free agent meaning the Tigers stand to get 2 draft picks if they don’t deal him, and they offer him arbitration (and he declines)

Granderson ranks 8th and Cabrera is somewhere between 10-15. Clearly defense counts.

Wonderful work by Eddie culling the organization for everyone’s roster status. The Tigers will need to have at least 4 spots on the 40 man available to protect rule 5 eligible players.
