Tigers Minor League Wrap 7/13/09, Guillen’s rehab

Deik Scram hit his 12th homer. Jeff Kunkel also homered. Andy Dirks, Cale Iorg, and Santo De Leon each had 2 hits. Thad Weber allowed 9 hits and 4 runs in 6.1 innings.

West Michigan 7 Beloit 3
Ben Guez doubled, singled, and walked. Luke Putkonen allowed just 1 run on 7 hits, 1 walk, and 6 K’s in 7 innings.

Lakeland 0 Brevard County 7
Carlos Guillen DH’d and led off and went 0 for 3 before he was pinch hit for. Joe Tucker and Christoper White had the only hits. Matt Hoffman fanned 5 in 5.1 innings and allowed 4 runs on 4 walks and 8 hits.

Julio Rodriguez homered. Zach Samuels fanned 4 and walked none in 4 innings.

Wil Rhymes doubled twice and Brent Dlugach had 2 hits. Nate Bump shut out the Indians for 7.1 innings on 6 hits and no walks. Casey Fien gets the save retiring all 3 batters he faced.

Cale Iorg doubled, singled, and walked. Ronnie Bourquin had 2 hits. Jonah Nickerson fanned 6 and allowed 2 runs on 2 walks and 5 hits in 7.1 innings. Brett Jensen threw 1.2 scoreless with 2 strike outs.

The Flying Tigers scored 4 runs without an extra base hit. Adrian Cassanova drove in 2 runs. Lauren Gagnier fanned 4 in 6 shut out innings.

Michael Rockett and Alexis Espinoza each had 2 hits. Espinoza is now hitting 303/382/485. Andy Wilk threw 7 shut out innings with 5 K’s and a walk.

Mike Gosse homered and doubled. Jordan Lennerton had 3 hits. Luis Salas doubled, sinlged, and walked. Brayan Villarreal fanned 7 with 3 walks and 1 run in 5.2 innings. Robert Waite only recorded 2 outs while 5 runs scored on 5 hits.

Wilkin Ramirez continues on his July tear with a 3 for 4 night. Don Kelly tripled. Mike Hessman doubled and singled. Chris Lambert fanned 5 and allowed just 3 hits and a walk in 6 shut out inings. ryan Perry pitched 2 innings and allowed 2 runs on 4 hits.

Audy Ciriaco fanned 3 times. Mauricio Robles fanned 4 in 6 shut out inings. Scott Green got the save with a scoreless inning including a K.

Josh Workman doubled, the only Flying Tigers extra base hit in the double header. Trevor Feeney allowed 1 run in 4 innings on 3 hits and a walk.

Brent Wyatt and billy Nowlin each had 2 hits. Ben Guez homered. Brandon Hamilton walked 6 in 4 no hit innings.

Rawley Bishop went 4 for 6 with a homer. John Murian homered and walked. Jamie Johnson went 3 for 5 with a walk. Nate Newman fanned 4 in 5 innings with 3 unearned runs, 2 walks, and 3 hits.

Alexander Nunez tripled and singled. Ramon Lebron fanned 11 in 6 innings with only 1 walk, 5 hits, and 2 runs allowed.

Wilkin Ramirez went 3 for 6. After struggling in June, he is 16 for 33 with 5 extra base hits and 4 walks in July. Mike Hessman, Jeff Larish, and IL All Star Brent dlugach all had 2 hits (Larish added 2 walks). Eddie Bonine went 6 innings and allowed 3 runs on 3 walks, 9 hits and 4 K’s. Casey Fien fanned 5 in 3 perfect innings.

Andy Dirks went 2 for 4 with a homer. Danny Worth singled twice. Ramon Garcia allowed 4 runs in 3.2 innings and Brendan Wise was rocked for 6 runs in 2.1 innings.

Lakeland 4 Dunedin 3
Joe Tucker went 2 for 4 with a double. Audy Ciriaco went 1 for 3 with a walk and has pushed his season line up to 253/295/398. Not overly impressive ont he whole, but he’s bee surging lately. Andrew Hess went 7.1 innings and allowed just 2 runs on 8 hits.

West Michigan 11 Wisconsin 2
Avasail Garcia went 4 for 5 with a double. Bryan Pounds and Gustavo Nunez each had 3 hits. Ben Guez tripled. Casey Crosby allowed just 2 hits in 4 innings with 3 walks and 8 K’s.

Vermont 7 Oneonta 6
Michael Rockett went 3 for 5 with a double, as did John Murrian. Alexis Espinoza doubled, singled, and walked and is now hitting 259/339/444. Luis Angel Sanz went 6 innings and allowed 5 runs on 9 hits, 2 walks, and 3 K’s in 6 innings.

Jordan Cruz and Luis Grullon each had 2 hits. Jose Diaz allowed 5 runs on 5 hits in 5 innings.

Roster Moves

Wil Rhymes went 3 for 5. Scott Sizemore singled and walked. Wilkin Ramirez, went 2 for 4 with a walk. Brooks Brown allowed 4 runs on 9 hits and 2 walks in 5 innings. Kris Regas (signed when Jay Sborz hit the DL) fanned 3 in 2 scoreless innings.

Cale Iorg, Alex Avila, Ryan Strieby, and Santo De Leon had the hits. Danny Worth walked 3 times. Thad Weber allowed just 1 run despite walking 4 and allowing 6 hits. Robbie Weinhardt pitched a scoreless, hitless, walkless inning.

Hernan Perez, Francisco Martinez, and Jordan Cruz each doubled. Rayni Guichardo allowed 3 walks and 4 hits but just 1 unearned run in 6 innings.

Michael Bertram was a triple shy of the cycle. Chris Carlson homered. Audy Ciriaco went 3 for 4 with a triple. Charlie Furbush pitched 6 shut out innings allowing just 4 hits and a walk while fanning 5. Lester Oliveros pitched the last 3 innings and fanned 4.

Ben Guez went 2 for 4 with a double. Brayan Villarreal pitched 6 innings allowing 1 run on 4 hits with 2 walks and 5 K’s. Anthony Shawler pitched 2 scoreless innings. Tyler Stohr gave up 3 runs in 1 inning blowing his 2nd save of the year.

Michael Rockett tripled and Alex Espinoza doubled. Jeff Gerbe allowed 3 runs in 1.2 innings. Kevan Hess pitched 3.2 innings and allowed 1 run on 4 hits. Mike LaLuna fanned 3 in 3 scoreless innings.

Hernan Perez went 2 for 4. The shortstop who turned 18 in March is hitting 324/359/514 in his first 9 games. Jose Siso pitched 4 innings and allowed 3 runs on 5 hits and 2 walks. Richard Zumaya took the loss surrendering a run on 3 hits in the 10th inning.

Wilkin Ramirez went 3 for 3 with a homer and a walk. Clete Thomas doubled and singled. Chris Lambert allowed 1 runs on 7 hits in 6 innings with 1 walk and 2 K’s. Josh Rainwater was knocked around for 3 runs on 3 hits and 2 walks in 1.2 innings.

Danny Worth, Alex Avila, Ryan Strieby, Brennan Boesch, and Santo De Leon all had 2 hits. Pat Stanley fanned 8 in 7 innnings allowing just 1 run on 5 hits in 7 innings.

Justin Henry and Deivn thomas each had 2 hits, including a homer for Thomas. Mike Bertram, Chris Carlson, and Audy Ciriaco all homered. Trevor Feeney pitched the first 2 innings and allowed 2 runs on 4 hits, no walks, and 3 K’s. Chad Linder got hammered for 7 hits and 6 runs in 1 inning.

Bryan Pounds went 3 for 5 with a triple, a walk, and 6 RBI. Ben Guez doubled 3 times and drove in 5. Mike Gosse had 3 singles and drove in 4. Brandon Hamilton allowed 5 runs on 5 hits and 2 walks in 2 innings.

Michael Rockett picked up 3 hits and is hitting 404/429/532 in his first 47 at-bats. Luis Palacios doubled, singled, and walked. Clemente Mendoza allowed just 1 hit and 1 run in 6 innings with no walks and 4 K’s.

Brennan Boesch homered and singled. Thad Weber allowed 5 runs on 11 hits in 5 innings. Robbie Weinhardt allowed his first AA run on two hits and a walk with 2 K’s in an inning.

Justin Henry and Devin Thomas doubled. Jordan Newton tripled. Andrew Hess allowed a run on a solo homer, but that was it for 6 innings.

Billy Nowlin went 3 for 5. Ben Guez doubled and singled. Luke Putkonen went the distance allowing just 1 walks and 5 hits against 5 K’s.

Alexis Espinoza doubled as a pinch hitter. Luis Angel Sanz fanned 6, but walked 5 in 4 innings. And pretty much everyone else struggled.

Clete Thomas and Brent Clevlen each had 2 hits. Ruddy Lugo didn’t make it out of the first inning before allowing 8 runs. This wasn’t good and it saw Jeff Frazier pitch the last 2 innings, and not well.

Ryan Strievy is back int he lineup and he homered and singled. Andy Dirks doubled twice. Ronnie Bourquin, Alex Avila, and Brennan Boesch all had 2 hits apiece. Jonah Nickerson allowed 5 runs in 5 innings on 11 hits, 3 of which were homers. Cody Satterwhite fanned 2 and allowed 2 hits and a walk but no runs in 2.1 innings.

Jordan Newton doubled twice. Audy Ciriaco went 2 for 2 with a walk and seems to love him some doubleheaders. Lauren Gagnier allowed 3 runs in 2.2 innings. Jared Gayhart has adapted well to the next level with 3.1 scoreless innings and just 1 hit allowed with against 2 K’s.

Fort Myers 4 Lakeland 1Justin Henry and Devin Thomas each had 2 hits. Trevor Feeney started and allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 4 innings. Brett Jacobson allowed 2 runs on 3 hits including a homer in 2 innings.

Gustavo Nunez, Brent Wyatt, and Bill Nowlin all had 2 hits. Bryan Pounds walked 3 times and doubled. Mark Sorensen went 6 innings and allowed just 2 runs on 5 hits, 1 walk and 2 K’s.

Rawley Bishop doubled twice, walked, and drove in 3. Keith Hernandez doubled twice and singled. Gary Perinar fanned 7 in 5 innings of 2 hit and 1 run ball. Jose Ortega struck out the side in his inning of work.

Luis Castillo and Elvin Soto each had 2 hits. Bruce Rondon struck out 6 in 4 innings. Giovanni Soto fanned 2 in a scoreless inning.
