Brennan Boesch homered and had 2 doubles. Ryan Strieby and Jeff Frazier both had 3 hit days and Cale Iorg added 2 hits. Scott Sizemore walked 4 times. Luis Marte fanned 5 and allowed 1 run (a solo homer) in 7 innings. Zach Simons pitched 2 innings of scoreless relief.

Justin Henry went 3 for 4. Andy Dirks doubled and singled. Andrew Hess fanned 4 with 1 walk and 2 runs in 6 innings. Brett Jacobson allowed 3 runs on 4 hits in 1 inning.

Billy Nowlin was 3 for 3 with a walk. Luis Palacios was a triple short of the cycle. Luke Putkonen allowed 2 runs on 5 hits and 3 walks with 4 K’s in 4 innings. Victor Larez pitched 5 innings of 1 hit ball with no walks and 8 K’s.

Michael Bertram homered and drove in 3 in a 2 for 4 day. Jordan Newton, Andy Dirks, and Kyle Peter all had two hits. Charlie Furbush allowed a homer as one of 3 hits in 5 innings with 2 walks and 2 strikeouts. Scott Green got his 3rd save allowing one hit and one strikeout.

Billy Nowlin and Chao Ting Tang each had 2 hits. Oscar Villarreal pitched 4 innings of 1 hit ball fanning 3.

Clete Thomas went 2 for 4 with a walk. Dusty Ryan homered and walked. Scott Drucker allwoed 7 runs on 10 hits including 3 homers in 4 innings. Fu Te Ni walked 2, but also struck out 2 in 2 innings. Clay Rapada allowed 2 runs on 3 hits with 2 K’s in his inning of work. Casey Fien allowed 2 hits and a walk in his inning.

Dontrelle Willis was the high profile starter in this one. Willis struck out 6 and walked 3 in his 6 innings with 2 runs on 3 hits. Overall, it was another encouraging outing. Willis did an interview prior to the game (h/t Kurt) and you can’t help but pulling for him. Cody Satterwhite fanned 4 in 2.2 innings but also walked 3 and allowed 2 hits. Brennan Boesch had 2 doubles and a homer. Ryan Strieby also homered.

Mike Bertram and Andy Dirks both doubled and singled. Lauren Gagnier allowed 5 runs on 7 hits in 6 innings due in large part to 2 homers.

Bryan Pounds homered and doubled. Jordan Lennerton went 3 for 3. Casey Crosby fanned 3 and walked 2 in 5 shut out innings.

Bryan Pounds and Jordan Lennerton had the 2 multi hit games. Matt Hoffman went 6 innings allowing 2 runs on 5 hits, no walks, and 6 K’s.

Brent Clevlen doubled, one of only 4 hits for the Mud hens. Chris Lambert allowed 4 runs on 3 homers, 2 walks, and 3 K’s in 6.1 innings. Fu Te Ni struck out 2 in one inning.

Brent Clevlen was a double short of the cycle. Brent Dlugach went 3 for 5 and is now hitting 362/404/638. Ruddy Lugo allowed 4 runs on 9 hits with 3 K’s in 6 innings. Casey Fien, Clay Rapada, Matt Rusch and Freddy Dolsi held Louisville off the board.

Deik Scram homered twice and walked twice. Ryan Streiby homered, and Max Leon was a double short of the cycle – that’s 4 homers for him this year. Scott Sizemore homered. Even Max St. Pierre went deep. Brooks Brown allowed just 3 hits, and no walks, over 5.2 innings and has himself a 17 inning scoreless streak to start the year.

Audy Ciriaco and Justin Henry each had 2 hits. Thad Weber pitched 7 shut out innings and allowed just 4 hits, no walks and 5 K’s.
West Michigan 8 Fort Wayne 3
Jordan Newton homered and singled and has a 390/444/780 line in 10 games. Billy Nowlin homered and singled as well and has a 394/462/576 line. Brandon Hamilton allowed a solo homer, but only 2 other hits while fanning 5 in 5 innings. He did walk 3, and those were the only 3 walks allowed by Tigers minor league starters.

Jordan Lennerton was 3 for 5 with a homer. Brent Wyatt had a triple as one of his 3 hits. Jordan Newton, Ronnie Bourquin, and Chao Ting-Tang each had multihit games. Mauricio Robles fanned 8, walked 3, and allowed just 1 hit in 7 innings.

Joel Zumaya did his back-to-back outing and allowed 1 hit with 2 K’s in his inning of work. Ron Chiavacci was shelled for 11 hits and 6 runs in 3.1 innings. Casey Fien struggled allowed 3 hits and 2 walks while recording 1 out. Brent Dlugach homered twice and Danny Worth went 3 for 4.

Audy Ciriaco doubled and homered. Chris Carlson also homered. Kody Kaiser added 2 hits. Andrew Hess pitched 5 shut out innings surrendering 6 hits but with no walks and 4 K’s. Robbie Weinhardt struck out the side to close it out.

There only 6 singles for the White Caps, but they somehow turned that into 5 runs. Luke Putkonen allowed 3 runs on 4 walks, 4 hits, and 4 K’s in 3.1 innings.

Joel Zumaya is probably one outing away from rejoining the team. He pitched a scoreless inning fanning 2. Scott Drucker was shelled for 7 runs allowing 9 baserunners in 4.1 innings. Fu Te Ni didn’t fare better with 4 runs on 5 hits and a walk in 2.2 innings. Mike Hessman hit a grand slam and Dusty Ryan hit a 3 run homer. Brent Dlugach had 3 hits and Clete Thomas and Ryan Robertson added 2 apiece.

Brandon Douglas was a homer short of the cycle. Jordan Newton added 2 hits. Casey Crosby pitched a no hitter for 3 innings, but he walked 6 in that time, but he also fanned 5.

That is kind of a crazy BABIP. Brayan Villarreal fanned 4 in 1.2 innings and Tyler Stohr allowed 3 hits in 2 shutout innings.
